Apple Watch 7 sometimes takes a while to open

Loving Pocket Lists! Unfortunately, the Apple Watch version sometimes takes up to 30 seconds when opening a list. You just see a spinning wheel. I'm guessing it's syncing at this time, but I'd rather it just open what it's stored locally, then refresh later if there's anything new. Thanks for your help! (it's using iOS 14 and WatchOS 7 beta)
