iPhone Can No Longer Sync


I have an iPhone 13 running iOS 17.1.2. I was running the app in an area with poor internet and sometimes running my VPN (Nord). I’m in a situation now where the app cannot be synced: “Updating” dialogue spins forever. I cannot log out because the sync is in progress. If I turn off wifi and don’t allow cellular data in the app, the sync fails, but I still cannot log out (or do much else). My subscription renews on 2-May. If I’m unable to sync, I will have no choice but to cancel my subscription.  Thank you.
